Past Kindnesses

Year Three at Reflection Garden on Tap
This year we served as Ambassadors for the festival! This meant we got to run around, meet people, help with supplies, assist the artists, and celebrate all the generous people who made this event successful! With ticket sales surpassing last year's event, this festival went a long way in making sure the Reflection Garden remains a beautiful space of remembrance.

You Know Me: Raising Funds for the ACLU
Our groundbreaking production, You Know Me, featured six real stories of abortion from members of our community. This one-night-only event gave a voice to an often silenced issue, and allowed women to share their experience, some for the very first time. All proceeds went to the ACLU to support reproductive freedom, and together we raised $500 with a single, powerful performance.

Walk MS 2019
For our third year, we gathered together at Walk MS, along with 8,000 people from our community, to support the National MS Society's annual fundraising effort. This year we had a blast entertaining kids, helping families, and painting faces (a skill we did not know we had until duty called). With help from volunteers like us, the National MS Society is able to fund its important research and support of folks living with multiple sclerosis.

Helping Furloughed Goverment Employees
We gathered at Food Bank of the Rockies to help with an emergency distribution for those affected by the government shutdown. Because of this incredible organization, we were able to help 90 families (400 individuals overall) get the food they needed!

Trunk or Treat 2018: More Trunks, More Treats
Back again for our third year at Holy Trinity Lutheran's Trunk or Treat! This community festival provides a safe space for kids to get Halloween treats, while highlighting performers from the area. We always have a blast improvising for the families, and can't wait to do it again next year!

Donating Blood at Bonfils
To help with hurricane relief efforts, some of our artists conquered their nerves and gave blood at our local donation center. Did you know that one donation could save three lives? How amazing! All it takes is an hour of your time and you too can make a life-saving difference, so consider giving at a center near you!
Reflection Garden on Tap 2018
We volunteered for our third year at the 7/20 Memorial Foundation's event to raise funds for their Reflection Garden. Commemorating the lives and heroism of those involved in the Aurora Theater Massacre, this garden serves as a place to reflect and come together as a community. During the event, some of our Humans manned the entrance to check IDs, manage tickets, and handle donations for this incredible cause.

For April's Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, our improv team, Third Kind Improv, raised funds to support the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network. Book Drive for World Storytelling Day
In conjunction with our production of Odyssey, the cast and crew collected books for donation to local homeless and crisis shelters. Books were shared with the St. Francis Center and The Denver Rescue Mission, two important organizations that offer essential resources for people in need.

Paper Crane Peace Project
Together with the 7/20 Memorial Foundation, we gathered to fold and assemble paper crane wreaths, gestures of solidarity that will be sent to victims of tragedy across the country. These symbols of peace and love are a true testament to kindness and humanity, and offer hope in dark times to those who truly need it.

Trunk-or-Treat 2017
We returned to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for a festive celebration of Halloween! The event offered children a safe place to trick-or-treat while bringing people together for some improv comedy. Performed by Third Kind, this free show introduced new audiences to the magic of improv.

Love to Las Vegas
Love to Las Vegas was an improvised fundraiser to benefit the victims of the Las Vegas Shooting. Performed at the Mercury Cafe, this show featured two groups, Third Kind and Chatfield Improv, in a night of comedy to support an important cause. 100% of the proceeds went to help victims cover their medical expenses. Thanks to the generosity of our audiences and performers, we raised $250 in one hour!

Planting the Memorial Garden
We were graced with the opportunity to help plant the 7/20 Memorial Reflection Garden. Working alongside the families, friends, victims, and first responders of the Aurora Theater Tragedy, we were able to have a hand in this beautiful tribute space.

Using the power of comedy, our group Third Kind Improv joined together to raise money for the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network. Thanks to the support of our artists and our community, we raised $360 for this organization. Overall we reached Tier 6 of our twelve tier goal, meaning that we performed our promised 6 hours of nonstop improv, all in support of sexual assault survivors and world without sexual violence.

Trunk-or-Treat at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
We joined our friends at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church to create a fun and exciting Halloween celebration for neighborhood kids and their families. Third Kind Improv performed a series of hilarious improv games for audiences of all ages at Trunk-or-Treat, an event that offered kids a safe place to get their Halloween candy. The event also featured a silent auction fundraiser, food, and other artistic demonstrations.
